SMHOA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of no fewer than five and no more than nine members, as established by the association’s bylaws. The Board’s principal responsibilities include:
Managing and maintaining the association’s common areas
Enforcing community covenants
Overseeing architectural control and reviewing property improvement requests from homeowners
Contracting for resources needed to manage the association
Setting, notifying members, and collecting member assessments
Holding an annual meeting to update members on association activities and finances
Maintaining books, accounts, and records, including annual independent audits
The board meets monthly, usually virtually, and all meetings are open to all members — with the exception of executive session items such as legal or contract matters. We encourage you to attend an upcoming board meeting and to introduce yourself to the board. The meeting schedule can be found on our calendar page.
We encourage homeowners to volunteer to join one of SMHOA’s committees. It is a good way to become involved in community activities and to meet some of your neighbors.
